The Public Enterprise "Roads of Serbia" informs the public that during these days, due to intense snowfalls in almost the entire territory of Serbia, freight vehicles have skidded in several cases and therefore have blocked several road routes, which has resulted in the suspension of traffic on both the highway and lower category roads, due to the failure to use winter tires and equipment by irresponsible drivers of freight vehicles - tow trucks.
PE "Roads of Serbia" appeals in particular to drivers of freight vehicles and all other road users not to travel on the road without mandatory winter equipment, to use chains, especially in hilly and mountainous areas, to respect speed limits, posted traffic signals and to adjust speed to road conditions.
On the entire territory of the Republic of Serbia special road machinery is available in the field 24 hours a day and road crews are on standby, ready to intervene in order to ensure safe traffic.
