In order to achieve a faster and a more efficient cooperation with the media houses, the PE “Roads of Serbia” introduced an online procedure for obtaining licenses for recording roads, road structures, toll stations and sites under the jurisdiction of the enterprise.

The form of the Request for recording/reporting should be filled in and sent to the Department for Public Relations not later than one day before the required recording term at 03.00 PM (requests for recording/reporting on a Saturday or Sunday should be submitted not later than the preceding Friday at 03.00 PM), to the following:
Recording/reporting from the required location is possible only after a written approval by the Acting Director of the PE “Roads of Serbia” is obtained.
Successful public appearance of the PE “Roads of Serbia” and continuous communication with the media, road users, partners, associates and colleagues have been the tasks of the Department for Public Relations for thirteen years now.
Timeliness, objectivity, versatility and good organization are prerequisites of modern business operations and principles which we are guided by in our performance.
Our task is to inform the public professionally, conscientiously and responsibly through continuous contacts with the media, professionals, institutions and other stakeholders.
Cooperation with the media is professional and based on the principles of accuracy, veracity, clarity, precision and speed. Business and journalistic principles and rules are obeyed, while preserving the Company’s respectability.
The performance and activities of the Department for Public Relations are in line with the legislation of the Republic of Serbia.
Through media we release news, announcements, information and appeals. We organize press conferences and giving statements and interviews of authorized employees for the media and other footage filmed on construction sites and at the premises of the Enterprise. We also organize professional gatherings - presentations and seminars concerning new technologies, products, equipment and achievements in the road industry for the purpose of informing the business community. In cooperation with the authorized colleagues, we prepare replies to journalists’ requests and to the inquiries of municipal services and natural and legal persons as well. The department, in cooperation with the authorized sectors, prepares the representation of the Enterprise and arranges exhibition spaces on fairs and exhibitions where the PE”Roads of Serbia” participates.
We have raised our internal communication and cooperation with all sectors of the Enterprise to the highest level. Continuous timely exchange of information with colleagues in charge from all sectors of the Enterprise is a precondition for quick and efficient performance, a successful appearance of the Enterprise in public and the planning of activities significant for the reputation of the Enterprise.
In accordance with the Media Plan, the Department proactively directs the interest of the media to the delivered and the on-going projects, and to the important planned projects and activities as well.
We continuously inform the management on all aspects of our work which influence the media exposure of the Enterprise in public through regular submissions of press clippings and media monitoring, as well as via special announcements and letters reporting about all our activities.
In the course of thirteen years, on a daily basis, we have been keeping track and analyzing texts and footage about the Enterprise and the Acting Director Zoran Drobnjak and we have also developed a substantial archive consisting of published texts and video footage.
At an annual level, around 60 percent of the total amount of published/released footage on the PE “Roads of Serbia” is the result of direct and proactive PR activities. The influence and the importance of the Department for Public Relations activities are reflected in a significantly increased number of media releases annually, especially the number of positively exposed texts and reports.
The summary of our successful communication with more than 150 media companies, news agencies, print media companies, TV and radio stations, Internet portals and production companies in the course of 2019 is over 1,400 answered questions, more than 159 interviews and 174 statements, resulting in more than 18,628 media releases concerning our Enterprise.
For the first time in the PE “Roads of Serbia”, in 2020, the Department for Public Relations has, through cooperation with colleagues from all sectors of the Enterprise, initiated, started and delivered a campaign for raising awareness of drivers regarding the safe distance between vehicles.
The aim of the educational campaign “3 seconds, a whole life” is to improve traffic safety and indicate the importance of keeping a safe distance between vehicles. For that purpose the following items have been prepared:
- an educational video and a radio spot,
- messages for VMS gantries along the motorways,
- announcements for social networks,
- informative leaflets and posters,
- stickers with the educational campaign visual in Serbian and English for all toll booths where toll cards are issued…
- direct promotions of the campaign have been organized in the form of talking with the drivers
Out of the numerous events we participated in, the most prominent ones are the organization of the presentation “Road Rehabilitation and Safety Project” in cooperation with the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, the World Bank, the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The presentation showed in detail the Project of rehabilitation of 1,100 km of Serbian road network during five years' time of the planned project duration.
We organized the First International Scientific and Professional Conference “Modern road maintenance” in 2013, we were engaged in the organization of Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries in the Serbian capital in 2014, and the Summit of Ministers on Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Belgrade in 2015.
As part of our international activities, we cooperate with European and worldwide associations, administrations and road institutes. Our enterprise is a full member of the European Association of Operators of Toll Road Infrastructure (ASECAP), European Road Federation (ERF) and International Road Federation (IRF). We prepare on a regular basis the National Annual Report, which is a part of the annual National Report of the Association member states, we fill out thematic professional questionnaires about the Enterprise and also prepare information and photographs regarding the realization of the PE “Roads of Serbia” projects.
Thanks to the successful cooperation so far, our reports and photographs have been published in newsletters and on internet presentations of the IRF and the ASECAP.
In accordance with the ASECAP and its members’ instructions, each year we celebrate “Every Day Without A Road Death” – project “EDWARD”. In 2019, the project was realized for the fourth time, with the aim of accomplishing one day without casualties in traffic, with the support of the European Commission.
Each year in November, on the occasion of the beginning of Winter Maintenance of I and II category state roads in the Republic of Serbia, we successfully organize a presentation of the Winter Maintenance Plan for I and II category state roads.
Our department has also, together with the line ministry, taken part in the organization of exhibitions on infrastructural projects:
- The exhibition of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure “Nothing is Faraway Anymore” in 2019
- The multimedia exhibition in the building of the former main railway station in Belgrade “We Continue to Make Good News” in 2018
We continuously keep track of the implementation of our Enterprise’s projects and organize events – marking of the commencement of works, visits to the infrastructure projects under construction, opening reconstructed roads, rehabilitated road structures and new roadways for traffic, marking the successfully completed projects, marking the commencement of campaigns important for traffic safety…
Our most visited press conferences are certainly those attended by the country’s high officials, the Prime Minister or the President of the Republic of Serbia, ministers, as well as foreign high officials or representatives of international financial institutions.
We regularly keep track of the phases of works and realization of our Enterprise’s significant infrastructure projects, on which occasion we organize events together with the colleagues in charge and the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure. Here are some of them:
- “Press Safari” through Grdelica Gorge in 2018,
- Completion of all phases of the construction of the “twin” bridge over the Sava at Ostružnica on the Belgrade Bypass and official opening for traffic on 14th June 2020,
- The construction of the bridge over the Sava and the Kolubara on the section of the motorway “Miloš Veliki“ from Surčin to Obrenovac and opening for traffic in December 2019,
- Opening of the motorway “Miloš Veliki“ from Belgrade to Čačak on 18th August 2019,
- Commencement of works on the motorway Belgrade – Sarajevo section from Sremska Rača to Kuzmin at the beginning of October 2019,
- Marking the commencement of works on the section Preljina – Požega in 2019,
The Department for Public Relations, within its jurisdiction, takes care of all aspects of the maintenance and optimization of the Enterprise’s Internet presentation.
The record 899,686 visits and 1,944,606 views of the Enterprise’s Internet presentation last year, with growing tendencies, is the result of our work. With technological innovations, regular update of the content management system and daily update of the content, we have improved the communication of the Enterprise with all stakeholders.
By introducing a version for mobile phone platforms, our Enterprise was among the first public enterprises in Serbia to enable access to information using mobile phones or tablets, irrespective of where they are, since our imperative is to provide the requested information to our users as easily and fast as possible.
Following the trend of further increase of mobile telephones use, the number of visits from mobile devices has become even more prominent, exceeding 62 percent of the total number of visits.
Realizing the importance of large infrastructure projects, we have developed and organized the monitoring and recording of multimedia contents comprising documentaries, video footage and photographs of current projects and different phases of realization of projects on the construction, maintenance, rehabilitation, remedy and other activities and topicalities during the performace, so that we could leave an archive containing footage of those processes to future generations. On average, we record around 90 video clips and several hundreds of photographs annually. Our photographs and video footage of the events we organize are uploaded to the gallery within the Internet presentation of the Enterprise, as well as on the YouТube channel.
The Department for Public Relations presents the largest and the most important activities and projects in theme films which are developed based on the information obtained from the authorized colleagues and through monitoring the course of the project’s delivery in the field: The Corporate Film, the Film on the Toll Collection Sector, the Film on the Construction of the Bridge no.8 over the river Sava at Ostružnica on the Belgrade Bypass, the Film on the Bridge over the rivers Sava and Kolubara on the new section of the motorway E-763 Surčin – Obrenovac, the construction of the Belgrade Bypass, the new bridge over the Danube at Beška, the rehabilitation of the bridge Gazela and the motorway passing through Belgrade. The films have been made for congresses, conferences, manifestations…: Oscar for Quality 2017, Modernization of toll stations and rehabilitation of 100 bridges, “50 years of Serbian Transport Economics”, “Republic of Serbia Road Network”, the film for 2nd Road Congress in 2016…
In the course of the previous thirteen years, we have developed 24 issues of “Bilten” – an internal newsletter informing employees, business partners, users, media representatives and all stakeholders on the performance of the Enterprise.
With joint effort we are continually accomplishing the goal set in the first issue – to be informative, useful, comprehensive and interesting.
Our product is also a bilingual brochure with relevant data and photographs, created for the purpose of a short and distinctive presentation of the PE “Roads of Serbia” depicting the jurisdiction of various sectors within the Enterprise.
In order to attract the attention of users to innovations, improvements, services and the significance of responsible behavior in traffic, we develop and prepare flyers with messages. The flyers in Serbian, English and Turkish language for the campaign “3 Seconds, a Whole Life” depict a safe distance between vehicles per categories, with important statistical data and the message “Keep a safe distance, save lives”. For the festival of love, “Lovefest” in Vrnjačka Banja, which was an opportunity to appeal to the youth and highlight the importance of obeying traffic regulations, our department prepared visually attractive flyers with the slogan “Somebody loves you…Drive carefully”. In cooperation with the Sector for Toll Collection, we also feature messages for users on VMS gantries along the motorways.
During the realization of large infrastructural projects which demanded long-term traffic regime modifications, we developed flyers on traffic management for users so that they could travel on roads under construction in an easier and faster manner.
Long and successful cooperation with the Road Association of Serbia – “Via-vita” has resulted in an effective organization of 1st and 2nd Road Congress. For years we have also been a part of the professional journal “Road and Traffic” which represents our Enterprise along with the professional papers of our colleagues.
As a recognizable token of appreciation, for everyday communication and promotion of the Enterprise we have created effective corporate items, numerous representative products, conceived preliminary solutions for personal organizers, planner notebooks, business cards, roll-up banner stands, posters…The Department designs solutions and prepares posters to be printed for the purpose of furnishing exhibition spaces of the PE “Roads of Serbia” when participating in fairs and exhibitions.
“In the world of circus and carnival“, “When I close my eyes, I see…”, “Dream about travelling”, “Santa on the road“, “Magical home base for Santa“, “My planet“, “What I want“, are topics for children’s drawings competition, encouraging the children of employees to express their talents and creativity. The drawings of the competition’s winners illustrate desk calendars and New Year’s greeting cards of our Enterprise.
The Department for Public Relations cooperates with the Independent Union of the PE “Roads of Serbia” since its establishment and informs the employees on all union activities and actions. Every summer, our union organizes recreational camps for the children of the employees and, traditionally, at the end of June, prepares and realizes the Workers’ Sports Games together with the association “Putar”, which the Department writes about in its newsletters.
We are also engaged in socially responsible activities such as regular voluntary blood donations, “Čep za hendikep (Bottle Cap for Handicap)”, where we are positioned among the top ten companies. Last year, the Department for Public Relations supported the First International Motor Relay Race promoting fight against cancer.
High goals, quality and committed work, true dedication to work are a sure path towards the achievement of excellent results!
