Branko Stamatović, Acting Director of the Traffic Safety Agency emphasized the importance of child car seats with the information that 488 people lost their lives in traffic accidents in the Republic of Serbia in 2025, of which 11 were children, and as many as nine children as passengers in a car. "As for the statistics for this year, from January 1st to today, 69 people lost their lives in traffic accidents. We record a lower number of victims for the same period compared to the previous year, but as long as we lose one life in traffic and accidents, we are not satisfied," he added.

Journalist Dea Đurđević shared with the audience the story of her traumatic experience when she had a car accident and when she had more than 20 operations and four clinical deaths, but, as she said, it is important to share that story from the point of view of someone who survived and who fought to have a quality life today.

Nebojša Mandić, director of the Commercial Affairs Sector of the Serbian Automobile Association, said that AMAS has been working on an action called “What do you know about the traffic” for more than 50 years, in which several thousand schools in Serbia participate.

Given that traffic safety is one of the imperatives of “Putevi Srbije” every Caravan is an opportunity to show a wide range of visitors, in direct contact, what needs to be done in order to raise traffic safety to the highest possible level and clarify the goal of implementing educational campaigns implemented by our Company.

Ljerka Ibrović, head of the Department for Public Relations Department of “Putevi Srbije” of Serbia, said that "Putevi Srbije", as the manager of the national road network, has an important role in the development of safe roads. "We have witnessed the construction of hundreds of kilometers of highways and expressways in the last 13-14 years. Everything was built according to the most modern world standards of design, construction, environment, ITS technology. We take care that the roads being built are safe and good for the travel of all road users. We are also working on the maintenance and rehabilitation of 16,000 km of state roads of the first and second order," she reminded.

Ibrović added that for almost 10 years “Putevi Srbije” has been engaged in the production and promotion of campaigns aimed at all road users with the aim of educating them and teaching them what is desirable and what is undesirable behavior in traffic.

The President of the Olympic Committee of Serbia, Dejan Tomašević, pointed out that the Olympic Committee supports all champions, and that the most important are those champions who are good road users.

The Head of the Traffic Police Administration, police colonel Slaviša Lakićević appealed to everyone to respect the regulations, because the main killer on the world's roads is improper speed. "Many think that traffic or driving is a reflex action. No, because one bit of inattention, one bit of recklessness to drive a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or exceed the speed limit can lead to such consequences that we injure or endanger someone's life."

The traffic safety caravan is a preventive project of national interest that was launched in order to draw the attention of all road users, from the youngest to the oldest, to safe behavior in traffic. The goal of the joint action of the institutions involved in the project is to, through prevention, campaigns and education, reduce the number of dead and seriously injured persons and reach a zero rate of child injuries in traffic.
