Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, prof Zorana Mihajlović, PhD and the Acting Director Zoran Drobnjak have visited today the landslide in the settlement Ovčinje on the state road connecting Bajina Bašta and Valjevo, in the presence of the Zlatibor District Commissioner, Boban Perišić, and the Head of the Bajina Bašta Municipality, Radomir Filipović.
A part of the road on the route Valjevo - Rogačica - Bajina Bašta collapsed on 22nd and 23rd June due to flooding and landslide.
“No one shall remain cut-off from the world. At this moment another 120 km of road, approximately, on the territory of Serbia, is still not passable due to flooding. The estimate is around three billion dinars worth of damage. Everything we work on in the future will last at least
50 years, we have changed laws so that what's being done now could be protected from floods”, Minister Mihajlović said and emphasized that only together we could solve any problem which may arise in the country and the society and that "the country would do its best to remedy every landslide, bridge or road”.
Acting Director Zoran Drobnjak said that the section would be completed in three and a half months: „Serious work is ahead of us. First we will make a new retaining wall and then reconstruct the road. We need one and a half months for the design and another two for the execution”.
The Commissioner of the District and the Head of the Municipality, Perišić and Filipović, thanked the Deputy Prime Minister and the director of the "Roads of Serbia" for their help and quick response.
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, prof Zorana Mihajlović, PhD has announced new infrastructure projects: "Next year a tunnel through Kadinjača will be done, as well as the bridge Skelani, with provided loan guarantees in the state budget“
“We are also continuing with the work on the construction of the motorway to Bosnia and Herzegovina, from Požega to Kotroman. We will do anything so that this region has what it it needs most, and that is infrastructure, so that people can work and keep on living here with their families”, Mihajlović said.
