ROADS OF SERBIA: SLOW DOWN AND OBEY TRAFFIC SIGNAGE

Over the past few days, an increase in traffic accidents involving freight vehicles has been recorded on state roads of the IA category (motorways) in the Republic of Serbia.

The PE "Roads of Serbia" appeals to freight vehicle drivers to set off on the road in a well-rested state, adjust their speed to road conditions, obey the prohibition of overtaking for freight vehicles and the posted traffic signage, and to keep a safe distance.

Last year, the PE "Roads of Serbia" installed no-overtaking signs for freight vehicles on state roads of IA category, a total of 140 traffic signs, on the following sections:

•    A1 section: Kovilj intersection - Beška intersection (zone of the "Beška" bridge over the Danube),
•    A1 section: Stara Pazova intersection - Požarevac intersection,
•    A1 section: Predejane intersection - Vladičin Han intersection (zone of the "Džemin Do" and "Vrla" bridges),
•    A2 section: Surčin jug intersection - Ub intersection,
•    A3 section: Šimanovci intersection - Belgrade intersection
•    A8 section: Hrtkovci intersection - Šabac (end of the constructed highway).

No-overtaking signs are installed with the aim of making traffic on Serbian highways safer, more efficient and more rational, as well as reducing congestion that occurs when two or more trucks overtake each other for long periods of time.

Obey the posted traffic signs, drive calmly, take a break every two hours, save your own life and the lives of other road users!
