On May 28, 2024 a meeting of state road managers from the region organized by the Transport Association was held in Vienna.
The topics of the meeting were: road infrastructure management, ITS application and road safety.
The second part of the meeting was devoted to a detailed mutual introduction of road managers in the Western Balkans region regarding road maintenance and ITS implementation. They discussed the coordination of the management with the transport community for joint projects.
Miodrag Poledica, assistant director of PE "Roads of Serbia", spoke about the state and challenges in maintaining the road network as well as the implementation of ITS in the Republic of Serbia. He also emphasized the importance of carrying out work on the maintenance of the road network as well as the introduction of new technologies, improvement of the accompanying road content through the construction of new and improvement of existing capacities for providing services to users of electric and hybrid vehicles, recycling of materials...
During his presentation, Director Poledica emphasized the importance of the traffic management concept and the development of ITS on the state road network in the Republic of Serbia.
