Department for Data Processing

 

The Department for Data Processing – ADP is responsible for the automatic processing of data stored on the Central Toll Collection Platform at the Vrčin Data Centre. The Department’s objective is to provide operational support and meet all technical and staffing requirements of the toll collection process in the Republic of Serbia, which is continuously being improved and modernised.

 

The Department performs the following activities within its scope of work:

  • participates in the maintenance, development and implementation of software requirements related to the improvement of the Central Platform of the Automatic Toll Collection System.
  • participates in the analysis and implementation of complex IT tasks related to the processing of toll collection data and, where necessary, upgrades and enhances such processes to ensure timely and accurate data processing.
  • provides professional and IT support in the development and improvement of the automatic toll collection system.
  • performs complex and specialised operational tasks related to the maintenance of existing systems and the development of future toll collection systems.
  • prepares, monitors the status of, records the use of, and keeps verification records of pre-magnetised PM cards for manual toll collection (PPP) following the completion of the annual inventory.
  • verifies anomalous cards received from the field (unreadable, non-magnetised, suspicious and BOX cards).
  • prepares and enters financial and traffic-related reconciliations for toll collectors operating in the manual toll collection system.
  • processes and prepares monthly statements of outstanding toll collector shortages in RSD and foreign currencies, as well as decisions on the payment of outstanding toll collector shortages.
  • verifies payment card data.
  • updates, enters, blocks or reactivates employee ID codes and passwords for toll collection staff (toll collectors, supervisors, field controllers, division heads, etc.).
  • prepares identification badges for all toll collection employees.
  • processes, modifies and distributes RSD and foreign-currency price lists for toll collection.
  • prepares official monthly, periodic and annual traffic and financial toll collection reports.
  • systematically and responsibly safeguards documentation and software data against unauthorised use; permanently archives operational data on electronic media and ensures that original encrypted data from offline processing are protected against physical or other damage.
  • updates, processes, analyses and verifies, on a document-by-document basis, automatically processed data received from the field
  • enters daily toll revenue deposits in RSD and foreign currencies
  • reconciles and documents, together with the Accounting Division and the Analytics Division, monthly financial and traffic data relating to toll collection
  • verifies and corrects toll collectors’ financial accountabilities, at the request of the Sector for Toll Collection or its toll collection sections, by reducing and/or increasing the amounts charged to their accounts
  • provides information required by external authorities and services

On 15 January 2021, the Toll Collection Data Acquisition and Processing Centre (Data Centre) commenced operations at the Vrčin Toll Station.

The Centre’s activities cover four key areas:

  • monitoring of the Central Platform (CP) system;
  • defining roles and responsibilities;
  • superuser and
  • procedures and rulebooks
