PROJECT OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF BYPASS AROUND UŽICE

Works on the Project of construction of the bypass around Užice, i.e. the construction of the section of state road I B order number 28 from Surduk to Volujac are underway.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia is financier of the Project and the investor of the works is the Public Enterprise “Roads of Serbia”.

The contractor is “Power Construction Corporation of China Limited”, Belgrade branch.

The project envisages the construction of a new two-lane road that will connect state road I B category no. 23, section Užice - Zlatibor and state road I B category no. 28, section: Užice - Bajina Bašta.

At the beginning of the route an interchange” Surduk” will be built, which is a junction to “Zlatiborski put” within which a roundabout will be built, while at the end of the route a three-way intersection will be built as a connection to the road to Užice.

In the middle of the section there is a partially built ‘Sinjevac” interchange, which completion is planned by this project.

At the beginning of the route, after the interchange “Surduk”, the construction of a bridge over the Djetinja River, about 260m in length is planned.

The section will have two lanes of 3.25 m width, with two edge lanes of 0.35 m and banks of 1.50 m width on both sides.

Permitted speed by the project is 60 km/h.

In order to bridge the terrain depressions along the route of the road, the construction of several bridges whose spans will be from 20m to 130m is planned, while an arched bridge with a length of about 260m will be built over the Djetinja River.

In addition to the mentioned facilities, the Project also provides for the construction of retaining walls, structures with a height of 1m to 6m, as well as the rehabilitation of unstable slopes and landslides on both sides of the road, while the construction of a “gallery” is provided for in the area of the uneven “Surduk” intersection.
