PE "Roads of Serbia" informs the public that at 10:26 a.m., a traffic accident involving 4 passenger motor vehicles took place on state road IA category number 2, in the Laz tunnel, in the direction of Požega, on the part of the road where there is a two-way traffic regime.
The traffic accident occurred when a freight vehicle, which was moving in the direction of Čačak, moved the barrier separating the traffic lanes into the lane in the direction of Požega at 10:24 a.m., after which another freight vehicle came across it at 10:26 a.m. and stopped.
Two passenger vehicles also stopped behind it. After them, a third and fourth passenger vehicles came along and hit the already stopped vehicles.
With the rapid intervention of the emergency services, the police and the highway maintenance service, the consequences of the traffic accident were eliminated and traffic in the Laz tunnel, in the direction of Požega, was normalized after a 27-minute suspension. One person was slightly injured in the traffic accident and was treated by the emergency medical service.
PE "Roads of Serbia" appeals to all road users to obey the posted traffic signals and to adapt their driving to the road conditions.
