What is ETC (electronic toll collection)?
Electronic toll collection is a modern model of contactless payment of toll by using TAG devices for adequate vehicle category.

What is TAG device?
TAG device is an electronic device for toll payment, and TAG device owner can be any legal or natural person which by paying an adequate compensation enters into contract with the PE “Roads of Serbia”. By using a TAG device, the automatic transaction between this electronic device and communication system with antenna installed next to the entrance and exit traffic lane is enabled. The system of electronic toll collection facilitates movement in toll station zone, without stopping.
TAG devices are available in:
PREPAID system, in which users pay in advance the amount of TAG device recharge for paying the toll, and 
POSTPAID system, only for national legal persons, in which users pay toll in the upcoming month for the passages with TAG device made in the previous month.

What is necessary for purchasing TAG device in prepaid system?

How to use TAG device?

Could TAG devices be moved and used in other vehicles?
Only TAG devices configured for category I (passenger vehicles) can be used in any passenger vehicle regardless of ownership or license plates. For all other categories TAG device is immovable.
Are there any discounts available when purchasing and recharging TAG device?

Whom should I address complaint about improperly drawn funds from TAG device?
In case of complaint about improper amount of drawn funds from the TAG device, the user has to submit the complaint in adequate form available at toll station and online web presentation of the PE “Roads of Serbia”, on the page Complaints.

What are the toll prices in the Republic of Serbia?
Toll price list for the territory of the Republic of Serbia is available and can be downloaded from the PE “Roads of Serbia” website, on the page Vehicle categorization/Toll price list.
We recommend application for mobile phones, which in addition to other important information enables easy and precise calculation of toll price for specific road section. Application of the PE “Roads of Serbia” is completely free of charge and can be downloaded from the Google Play store. Toll can be paid in cash in dinars and euros, and with cash payment cards (MasterCard and Maestro, Visa, American Express, Diners, as well as domestic DinaCard). The possibility of paying toll with payment cards is available to users of all payment cards, regardless of the fact whether they are issued by domestic or foreign banks.
What happens when the card is lost?
In case a traffic participant loses, damage or for another reason reaches a toll station without valid magnetic card, regulation requires users to be charged the toll amount for the longest distance of the section the user is driving on, regardless of where the user entered the motorway, including costs of extraordinary procedure.
Who is entitled to toll-free motorway permits?
Right to toll-free use of motorways is granted to disabled persons who possess Toll-free Motorway Permits issued by the PE “Roads of Serbia” in accordance with Article 199. of the Law on Fees for Use of Public Goods ("Official Gazette RS", no. 95/2018).

Right to free pass is also given to organizations participating in humanitarian actions.

How and where can I change the device data?
PREPAID SYSTEM
In case the user of the TAG device in prepaid system wishes to change data on this device, it is necessary to bring it to the point of sale, together with read / copied registration card for inspection, while the legal persons are also required to bring authorization / request written on a company memo.
Change of data on TAG device in prepaid system may be performed at all points-of-sale of the PE “Roads of Serbia” and authorized Distributors.

POSTPAID SYSTEM
In case the user of the TAG device in postpaid system wishes to change data on this device, it is necessary to bring it to the point of sale, together with read / copied registration card for inspection, while the legal persons are also required to bring authorization / request written on a company memo.
In case the user of the TAG device in postpaid system has concluded a contract with the PE “Roads of Serbia”, change of data may be performed at all points-of-sale of the PE “Roads of Serbia”.
In case the user of the TAG device in postpaid system has concluded a contract with one of the authorized Distributors, change of data may be exclusively performed at postpaid point-of-sale of that authorized Distributor.

How can I recover illogically drawn funds?
If you think that an invalid transaction has been carried out when passing through the toll station, or that an illogical amount of funds has been drawn from your TAG device, you shall file a complaint using the prescribed form (link) and submit it to the e-mail address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by mail to the address of PE "Roads of Serbia", 64 Ustanička, 5th floor, 11050 Belgrade. Deadline for filing the complaint is 30 (thirty) days. If the complaint is justified, the funds shall be returned to the TAG device.
How to get information about the device balance?
Each ETC lane has an electronic display showing the following information to traffic participants:
  • entrance ETC lane: vehicle category data, vehicle registration number and amount available on TAG device (pre-paid system);
  • exit ETC lane: vehicle category data, toll amount and the remaining amount on TAG device (pre-paid system).
  • You can also check your TAG device balance at points of sale directly by TAG device reading.
How can I realize the recovery of funds if I haven't received the original letter of recovery of funds at my address although they claim it has been sent?
In such situations, you shall send TAG device data (owner name, device serial number - visible 11 digits) to the e-mail address This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , specifying that the original letter of recovery of funds has not been received. Given that the transfer of funds may be carried out exclusively on the basis of the original document, the complaint will be deemed justified in case that mail receipt does not provide any proof of the sent item, verified and proven by PE "Roads of Serbia". For individuals, it is possible to realize the recovery of funds at the point of sale of PE "Roads of Serbia" and by providing a personal statement in writing, on the basis of which the user, with its signature and ID card number, is obliged not to carry out any abuse in case the original letter is found.
How and where can I top up the device by means of bank transfer?
Device may be topped up by means of bank transfer at the points of sale of PE "Roads of Serbia". You shall send an application (in free form, but with company letterhead if the applicant is a legal entity) to the following email address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., which shall contain vehicle registration number or TAG device serial number and the desired top up amount. After that, PE "Roads of Serbia" shall submit a pro-forma invoice to the applicant and upon making the relevant payment, the user may top up its device at one of the points of sale of PE "Roads of Serbia" (Belgrade, 64/5 Ustanička, Novi Sad, 28a Kralja Petra Prvog, E75 motorway (former "Belgrade" toll station near Bubanj Potok)). As for topping TAG device up by means of bank transfer with authorized distributors, you need to contact the relevant distributor.
In case of a public sector user, application procedure to be followed is as described above, but PE "Roads of Serbia" is obligated first to record each pro-forma invoice in the Central Invoice Register (see item 8).
Are postpaid users entitled to a discount?
Electronic toll collection users within postpaid system shall be entitled to a discount in the amount of 5% which is calculated on the amount of monthly consumption, provided that the payment is made within the prescribed deadline, by the 22nd of the current month.
Why isn't it possible to top up the device online, via mobile application or personal account?
At this moment, there are no conditions to top TAG devices up online. PE "Roads of Serbia" is planning to introduce such topping up system in the forthcoming period.
Why aren't pro forma invoices for topping the device up recorded in the Central Invoice Register - CIR?
Pursuant to the Regulation on Terms and Method of Public Revenues Accounts Management and Allocation of Funds in these Accounts - A special fee for the use of public road, its segment or road structure (toll) is registered as public revenue.
The obligation to register (pro-forma) invoices issued by PE "Roads of Serbia", Sector for Toll Collection in the Central Invoice Register, refers exclusively to the purchase and replacement of TAG devices with 221 payment code by the public sector.

Are invoices for postpaid ETC service recorded in CIR?
The toll realized in postpaid system subject to invoicing by PE "Roads of Serbia" is considered public revenue, with 253 payment code, thus invoices for postpaid service shall not be registered in CIR (for more detail see item 8).
