PE "Roads of Serbia" informs the public that the Šabac - Loznica expressway, 54.5 kilometers long, was opened for traffic today, on December 30, 2024 at 09.00 h.

13 bridges, 17 small bridges - culverts, 16 overpasses and four level crossings in Majur, Slepčević, Petlovača and Prnjavor were designed on the Šabac - Loznica expressway.  The bridge in Štitar settlement, 584 meters long, is located on the eighth kilometer of the expressway and is the longest bridge on the section. The Šabac-Loznica expressway is part of the Ruma-Šabac-Loznica highway construction project.

The construction of the Šabac-Loznica expressway, as one of the priority tasks in the road infrastructure, contributes to the development and connection of Srem, Mačva, western Serbia and Vojvodina and this part of Serbia with the region, primarily with BiH.

By putting this section into traffic, the journey from Šabac to Loznica will take no longer than half an hour, instead of an hour.
