PE ROADS OF SERBIA COMMEMORATES WORLD DAY OF REMEMBRANCE FOR ROAD TRAFFIC VICTIMS

PE Roads of Serbia joins also this year the commemoration of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, November 20, 2022, under the traditional slogan REMEMBER. SUPPORT. ACT.

The World Day of Remembrance dedicated to the millions of traffic accident victims worldwide was first marked by the European Federation of Road Traffic Victims (FEVR) in 1995.

In accordance with the recommendation of the United Nations from 2005, the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is observed every third Sunday in November each year in a number of countries.

The period 2021 – 2030 is proclaimed the Decade of Action for Road Safety during which World Day will play a very important role – emphasizing all the key reasons for every action during this Decade.

This year the key theme is JUSTICE with the goal to draw attention to the necessity of enforcement of the Law on Roads and thorough investigation after a crash to find out if a crime was committed and to prevent its recurrence, along with appropriate criminal prosecution where civil compensation is a part of the justice system.

In order to mitigate the number and consequences of traffic accidents, the PE Roads of Serbia conducts since March 2020 educational campaigns for raising awareness of drivers and increasing traffic safety, and has since then launched and realized three campaigns: 3 Seconds Whole Life, Traffic Sign Means Life and Do Not Drive in Emergency Lane, and preparation of new ones is underway.

The PE Roads of Serbia continues its socially responsible actions in the field of road traffic safety, and along with the launching of new educational campaigns, daily draws the attention of the public to the importance of responsible behavior in traffic, informs the traffic participants on road conditions and takes care of maintaining and improvement of the quality of the state road networks in order to achieve the best possible conditions for safe and comfortable driving.
