On Sunday, January 30, 2022, a part of the E-763 highway, the section from Preljina to Pakovrac in the length of 11.5 km, was opened to traffic, in the presence of the RS Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirović, Director of PE "Roads of Serbia" by Zoran Drobnjak, director of the company "Corridors of Serbia" Aleksandar Antic, city and municipal officials and representatives of contractors.
"This is a great day for Serbia," said the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, after passing the newly opened section by bus. The Prime Minister pointed out that roads are what unite people and expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the contractors.
During the construction, 300 thousand cubic meters of earth were excavated on this stretch, 120 thousand tons of asphalt, 263 thousand crushed stone, 44 km of fencing and 20 km of protective fence were laid…
With the opening of the section of the highway from Preljina to Pakovrac, the traffic jams that were created through Cacak, especially during the summer vacation season and on weekends, will become a thing of the past, because all transit traffic was redirected to the new bypass.
At the new toll station near Pakovrac, six lanes were made for the passage of vehicles in both directions. Also, drivers will be at the service of traffic signals, which broadcast important information about the situation on the roads, dangers, traffic accidents. Meters have also been installed that will measure how many vehicles pass during the day. Meteorological sensors for rain, ice and snow will also make driving easier.
The open section is part of the Preljina-Požega highway, 30.9 kilometers long, where the main contractor is the Chinese company China Communications Construction Company Ltd.
