Commencement of works on construction of Gornji Milanovac Bypass was marked in attendance of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vučić, Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Mr. Tomislava Momirović, Ambassador of the PR of China to Serbia, Ms. Chen Bo, and Acting Directors of the PE „Roads of Serbia“, Mr. Zoran Drobnjak, and „Corridors of Serbia“, Mr. Aleksandar Antić, upon which the President and his associates visited works on construction of the motorway from Preljina to Pakovraće on the section of the motorway E-763, Preljina – Požega.
Gornji Milanovac Bypass is a part of the road accessing the motorway “Miloš Veliki” via the interchange Takovo. The Bypass will be 9.4 kilometers long, and it's divided into two subsections, both being 4.7 kilometers long: the first one is stretching from Tenk to Klatičevo, implying construction of entirely new road with all kinds of earth works, cuttings, benching and embankments, and the other one from Klatičevo to Takovo which includes the reconstruction of the existing state road on which four bridges and one overpass are planned to be constructed.
„This Bypass and connection to the motorway will be of significant importance for development of the entire Takovo area. It will relieve Gornji Milanovac from heavy-goods vehicles, and it will extend development perspective since the ground adjacent to the Bypass is intended for new industrial zone“, the President pointed out.
The company Power Construction Corporation of China will carry out the works, and the deadline for their completion is 2023.
During the visit of the construction site on the section Preljina - Pakovraće, the President Vučić expressed his satisfaction with dynamics of works: „This is the image of today's Serbia – progress and speed at which Serbia thrives and constructs“. As he mentioned, this section „might be completed already by the New Year“.
The President especially emphasized the significance that the opening to traffic of this section would have for Čačak, as it would solve the problem of traffic congestions, since the entire traffic flow on this road route was running through the town.
The Ambassador of PR of China, Ms. Chen Bo, stressed that this was the third time that she and the President Vučić had visited the construction site of the motorway section Preljina - Požega, which, according to her words, indicates the importance of this project for Serbia.
The President announced commencement of other infrastructure projects as well – construction of Užice Bypass and tunnel Kadinjača in May of the following year, and later the construction of Požega Bypass, leg of the motorway „Miloš Veliki“, and motorway towards Višegrad, Duga Poljana and Montenegro.
