Works on the construction of the bridge at Sremska Rača, on the first section of the motorway Belgrade-Sarajevo, are being executed on schedule and the river Sava will be bridged by the end of the year.
Works on the construction of the bridge substructure have been completed and currently the superstructure is being worked on, from the pylon C1 to the pylon C2.
According to the supervisor Dragan Jocić, intense construction of the steel structure of the bridge is currently under way, and one third of the bridge has been practically constructed in two months.
“This bridge has approximately 5 and a half cubic metres of steel material, produced in plants in Turkey, after which it is transported in trucks to the construction site in the form of semi-products and subassemblies. We do the assembly work here on the spot, we make those assembly parts larger to the point when the launching and the creation of free space for further growth of the steel structure start“, Jocić explained.
For the first time in Serbia, brand new technologies, which help achieve the top quality of the steel bridge structure, are being applied: autonomous sandblasting robots and a laser cleaner of impurities and dirt, rust and colour!
