PE "Roads of Serbia" took part in the International Conference of the European Blind Union held from October 20 to October 22, 2021 in Belgrade, the topic of which was "Employment of blind and partially sighted people - a key to inclusion".
Within the panel entitled "Examples of good practice - Presentation of public companies employing blind or partially sighted people", the representatives of the Information Center of PE "Roads of Serbia" presented an example of good practice as well as changes, improvements and work process adjustments the Company has made.
Our colleague, Anđela Glišić, started working in our Company in June 2018 as an operator in the Information Center within the Sector for Traffic Control Information Systems.
With a view to assisting her and making it possible for her to be an active part of our team, we have adjusted working conditions to Anđela’s needs, provided her with a computer having all available applications necessary for work, a mobile phone supporting the installation of text to speech assistant, and daily use of text reading software known as "Snežana". Through her collegiality, kindness, conscientious and professional attitude towards work duties, Anđela shows every day how much she appreciates the chance she was given.
Pursuant to the Employment Strategy, Labor Law and the Law on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, PE "Roads of Serbia", as a socially responsible company, seeks to contribute to improvement of the position of persons with disabilities and wants to enable their active participation in work in accordance with their capabilities and with respect for their dignity.
