During Christmas and the expected increased intensity of traffic on the state roads of the Republic of Serbia, PE "Roads of Serbia" draws the attention of road users to an educational campaign.
„Do not block the mergency lane, do not stop life“
With the educational campaign "Do not block the emergency lane, do not stop life", PE "Roads of Serbia" wants to influence the behavior of drivers on highways and raise awareness of the importance and use of the emergency lane.
The campaign is carried out in order to influence the improper behavior of road users when using the emergency lane, and with the aim of educating road users about the correct use of the emergency lane, exclusively for stopping the vehicle due to a malfunction or sudden inability of the driver to control the vehicle, while indicating the risk and consequences of unsafe stopping in the emergency lane.
If it happens that the vehicle has to stop in the emergency lane due to a malfunction of the vehicle or sudden inability of the driver to drive the vehicle, the driver is obliged to:
- Turn on all direction indicators
- Wear a reflective vest
- Mark the vehicle with a safety triangle at a distance of at least 100 m
- From a safe place, take all necessary measures to remove the vehicle from the road as soon as possible
Bearing in mind the high prevalence of traffic accidents in the highway emergency lane, the educational campaign is particularly aimed at truck drivers, bus drivers who pick up passengers, and drivers of passenger vehicles who stop improperly in the emergency lane to fulfill various needs.
Guided by the thesis that accidents on the roads can be prevented, PE "Roads of Serbia" will work systematically to raise the level of awareness of road users.
For this purpose, an educational video and radio spot, announcements for social networks, informative flyers and posters etc. were prepared.
