EXPANDED TOLL STATION STARA PAZOVA RELEASED TO TRAFFIC

In the presence of the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Goran Vesić, the assistant director of the PE "Roads of Serbia" Ivan Tejić, the executive director of the Sector for Toll Collection, Milenko Caković, and the assistant executive director of the Sector for Toll Collection, Darko Savić, and representatives of the contractors, the expanded toll station "Stara Pazova" was opened to traffic.

PE "Roads of Serbia" has, as part of the modernization of the road infrastructure in the Republic of Serbia, completed works on the expansion of the Stara Pazova toll station.

The new expanded "Stara Pazova" toll station has 17 tolling lanes, increasing the capacity by almost 90% compared to the previous one. Designed using the model of modern toll stations, it will become one of the largest, and with the "Belgrade" toll station, it will have the highest throughput.

On July 1, 2022, the first phase of the Stara Pazova toll station expansion project was completed, 2 new traffic lanes for toll collection were put into operation, which has already significantly increased the capacity and ensured the smooth passage of vehicles during the summer season.

The expansion of the Stara Pazova toll station entailed the construction of 8 islands, resulting in a total of 17 traffic lanes, of which at least 3 are intended exclusively for electronic toll collection users at any time.

Above the toll lanes, a modernly equipped administrative facility with an area of more than 300 m2 was built. The dimensions of the administrative facility, erected 10 meters above the sidewalk of the traffic island, are 47x12 meters with a canopy height of 6.5 meters.

On the island between the lane for oversized vehicles and the service traffic lane, on the west side of the facility from the direction of Novi Sad, a prefabricated substation with two transformer boxes was built, while in the extension there is a space for an aggregate plant and a power plant facility with energy cabinets and UPS devices.

The far right lane is 5.5 m wide and is intended for the passage of oversized vehicles. The width of the internal roads next to the administrative and auxiliary facilities is 3 meters, the same as in the parking area.

The asphalt pavement at the entrance to the frontal toll station has an area of 6,600 m2, and, at the exit, it is 4,900 m2. The area of the concrete pavement between the raised islands with toll booths is 4,900m2 in total.

A total of 11,700 m2 of asphalt was installed on the plateau of the Stara Pazova toll station, with an internal road and a plateau for service facilities, and a parking space of 930 m2.

The project also predicts two parking spaces with electric chargers for users of electric vehicles, which will be marked with appropriate horizontal and vertical signage.

The Republic of Serbia toll station expansion project represents another valuable investment by the PE "Roads of Serbia", which will significantly contribute to the improvement of travel conditions, increase the flow and speed of vehicles, further increase the use of electronic toll collection and contribute to travel safety, comfort and speed.
