ROADS OF SERBIA: NEW VIDEOS OF PROGRESSING CONSTRUCTION OF MAJOR INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS ON YOUTUBE CHANNEL

The PE Roads of Serbia continues to inform the public on the progress of the construction of major infrastructure projects and upload videos to the YouTube channel:

CONSTRUCTION OF I B CATEGORY STATE ROAD NO. 27, LOZNICA-VALjEVO-LAZAREVAC, SECTION IVERAK-LAJKOVAC (CONNECTION TO THE MOTORWAY E-763, BELGRADE-POŽEGA) – 18.3 KM

The construction works continue on I B Category state road No. 27, section Iverak-Lajkovac. Upon construction of this section, the town of Valjevo will be connected to the motorway E-763 (Belgrade – South Adriatic), and it will represent a transverse connection in the road network of the Republic of Serbia.

The section will also connect parts of the Republika Srpska (BIH) with the motorway E-763 (Belgrade – South Adriatic), and farther through Corridor 10 with Bulgaria and Greece.

The 18.3 km long expressway with two lanes for each direction is designed for a speed of 100 km per hour.  Twenty-six bridges and culverts have separate directions and vary in size.

The longest, and at the same time the most demanding in the terms of construction are two bridges:  928 m long bridge no.16 that extends over the river Kolubara, state road and local roads,  and bridge no.3 that extends over railroad Belgrade – Bar and the existing I B Category state road No. 27  Valjevo – Lajkovac at the settlement Popučke.

CONSTRUCTION OF MOTORWAY E-763 “MILOŠ VELIKI”, SECTION: PRELjINA – POŽEGA – 30.9 KM, (11 KM LONG SECTION PRELjINA-PAKOVRAĆE OPENED TO TRAFFIC)

Upon construction of the section Preljina – Požega, Čačak, Lučani and Požega will be connected, but also two districts – Morava and Zlatibor. The new motorway route will shorten travel time from Čačak to Požega from the previous 45 to 20 minutes.

The motorway ”Miloš Veliki”  will connect all important road routes in the Republic of Serbia. At the interchange Preljina, the motorway “Miloš Veliki” will be connected to the Morava Corridor, i.e. the future motorway E-761, section Preljina-Pojate, through which it will also be connected with the motorway E-75 Belgrade-Niš. The motorway from Preljina to Požega will have great importance for connecting Serbia and the region since it represents a continuation of the motorway “Miloš Veliki” towards the border crossing with Montenegro, and it will also be a part of the future motorway Belgrade – Sarajevo.

This section is very specific since it passes through an extremely rough geographic site, and therefore numerous tunnels and bridges are being built (almost 1/3 of the route is composed of tunnels and bridges).

There is the ongoing construction of 3 tunnels on this section: Munjino Brdo, Laz, and Trbušani. All three tunnels are designed to have two separate tunnel tubes. It is important to notice that the tunnels Laz, 2.8 km long, and Munjino Brdo, 2.76 km long, will be the longest tunnels in Serbia.
