Roads of Serbia’s GIS PORTAL

The Public Enterprise "Roads of Serbia" has, in accordance with the most modern technical achievements, provided the public with access to the “Roads of Serbia” GIS portal on the Enterprise's website, through which it is possible to view various geospatial data on the national road network as well as traffic and technical data on the roads.

The geoinformation system of PE "Roads of Serbia" is a service that contains various types of spatial data on state roads with their attributes.

The main purpose of the GIS portal is the visualization of data on a unique interactive map, with the possibility of various spatial analyses, data selection, overlapping of different types of data and generating reports with the same data.

The GIS portal integrates all relevant data in one place, in a unique central geospatial database, which is regularly updated, with visualization on a unique interactive map, with the possibility of applying basic GIS tools.

The PERS GIS portal contains data on the reference system of state roads, traffic counting, road facilities, level crossings, unstable occurrences, toll stations, borders of populated areas, the European road network and more.

In order to introduce oneself with the data structure and tools for working on the Geoinformation System page of the PE "Roads of Serbia", in addition to accessing the portal itself, access to the documents: "Purpose, Content and Description of Data on the PERS Web GIS Portal" and "User Manual" is enabled.

In this way, PE "Roads of Serbia" is on par with the most developed countries in the field of database development and application solutions. All data available in one place is displayed from a central database that integrates different units.

Following the latest international practice, the Public Enterprise "Roads of Serbia" participates in data exchange with other institutions as well. For example, by establishing a data exchange service with the Road Traffic Safety Agency, the display of the data within the "Unique Database on Traffic Safety" is enabled, which is otherwise featured on the portal of the Road Traffic Safety Agency, directly from the central database of PE "Roads of Serbia". Thus, all changes in the state road network are automatically displayed to the users of the portal, without the need to submit unnecessary data during the update process.
