The Section New Belgrade – Surčin has been recognized as a structure of great importance for the Republic of Serbia. The newly constructed section will provide drivers with direct access from Vojvođanska and Dr Ivana Ribara Streets in New Belgrade to the motorway Miloš Veliki. Instead of the previous access via the segment of the motorway Belgrade – Šid, the new one will be 10 kilometers shorter.
The length of this section is 7.9 km and is designed for a speed of 80 kilometers per hour. It comprises four bridges and two overpasses. It has three lanes, 3.5 m wide, for each direction, a 5 m wide median strip, 2 m wide footpaths, and a cycling path of 2.2 m in width.
