ROADS OF SERBIA: CONSTRUCTION WORKS ON BELGRADE BYPASS ARE PROGRESSING

The PE Roads of Serbia continues to inform the public on the progress of construction of the major infrastructure projects and upload videos to the YouTube channel.

One of the most important projects in Serbia is a construction of the road encircling Belgrade – Belgrade Bypass, which is an integral part of the Pan-European Corridor 10 that on its main route from Salzburg to Thessaloniki connects eight, and including the Corridor’s branches, six more countries.

The complete route of the Belgrade Bypass to Batajnica, via Dobanovci and Ostružnica, as well as from the bridge over the river Sava at Ostružnica to Bubanj Potok, has strategic importance not only for our city but also for all people who are transiting Belgrade.

The Belgrade Bypass consists of three sections:

  • А (Batajnica-Dobanovci),
  • B (Dobanovci – Bubanj Potok), and
  • C (Bubanj Potok – Pančevo )

There is the ongoing construction of a 9.6 km long Sector 6 (Section B) in a full motorway profile that has three complex structures: interchanges Avala and Bubanj Potok, and the tunnel Beli Potok.

There are also ongoing intensive works on the interchange Avala which major function will be to enable unhindered communication of all settlements under Avala including the municipalities Rakovica and Resnik, while the road route that will ensure uninterrupted transit traffic flow in the direction from the Bypass to Belgrade and in the direction from the Bypass to Niš is passing under the interchange.

Electromechanical equipping is underway in the tunnel Beli Potok.

In addition to the construction of the interchange Avala and works in the tunnel Beli Potok, there are works on the road route, all bridges, and on local roads as well.

In parallel with the execution of works on the Sector 6 of the Belgrade Bypass, the design of the (remaining) Sector 6 is in the progress. This Design connotes a connection between the interchange Bubanj Potok and Pančevo. The Section will be a road and railway corridor, 31 km long, which will have several tunnels, and one road and one railway bridge at Vinča.

The progress of works is available for watching in our latest video at the following link: https://youtu.be/iACUOo3J-aY
