ROADS OF SERBIA: THE NEW ROAD BRIDGE OVER THE TAMIŠ RIVER NEAR ORLOVAT WILL BE BUILT NEXT YEAR

PE "Roads of Serbia", according to the order of Minister Vesić, the construction of a new road bridge over the river Tamiš near Orlovat will begin at the beginning of next year if the weather and other conditions allow it.

In April 2021, PE "Roads of Serbia" concluded a contract on the development of planning and technical documentation for the construction of the bypass of state road IIA category number 130 around Orlovat with a new road bridge over the river Tamiš.

The project was completed and submitted for expert control to the Audit Commission of the Provincial Secretariat for Energy, Construction and Transport on September 19 of this year, and we expect it to be confirmed in the next few weeks. When the project is confirmed by the Audit Committee, we will call for a tender and the construction of the bridge will begin next year.

On the current bridge over the Tamiš near Orlovat, as of March 20, 2020, there is a total suspension of traffic for all road vehicles.

Due to non-compliance with the ban by some road users, and in order not to endanger the safety of all road users, the PE"Roads of Serbia" installed concrete barriers on the approaches to the bridge on July 7, 2023, in accordance with the decision of the competent ministry.

Thus, with the construction of a new railway bridge, the residents of this part of Banat will have two new bridges, one for road traffic and the other for rail traffic, instead of one dysfunctional bridge on which traffic is prohibited.
