ROADS OF SERBIA: CONSTRUCTION OF SEGMENT NOVI BEOGRAD – SURČIN IN ITS FINAL PHASE

The PE Roads of Serbia continues to inform the public on the progress of construction of major infrastructure projects and upload videos to the YouTube channel.

By completion of works on the section Novi Beograd – Surčin, the connection between the City of Belgrade and the motorway E-763 – Miloš Veliki will be established, thus creating a functional unit comprised of city roads and the motorway E-763 which will be the shortest link between Belgrade and the Adriatic Sea.

This section is 7.9 km long and designed for the speed of 80 kilometers per hour. Four bridges and two overpasses will be constructed on this road route. The section will comprise of three lanes, 3.5 m wide, for each direction, the median strip 5 m wide, pedestrian lanes 2 m wide, and cycling lane 2.2 m wide.

There are on-going earthworks, i.e. construction of an embankment, on the final 400 m of the section. In the next few days, if weather permits, the works on removal of the existing telecommunication installations at the roundabout and widening and matching of Vinogradska Street to the existing roundabout will commence. Upon completion of the earthworks, the first layer of asphalt made of crushed stone aggregate will be paved.
